About

The Janesville Public Library was established in 1962, fulfilling the dream of Clark Corwin, a town councilman who had worked several years to make it possible. The library started as a small area in city hall and in 1974 was able to expand into it's current space which became available when the fire station addition was built onto 227 Main Street.

The Janesville Public Library is expanding once again with a building project that began in 2021. The library has purchased the building at 319 Main Street and is actively fundraising to finance renovations to make this a functional and accessible space for all patrons!
